I have a daughter growing in my belly!

So I thought for sure I would cry at the ultrasound. Maybe it was because my day, thus far, had been insanely hectic and frustrating. Maybe I was so worried about the answer that I couldn’t get out the tears. But I sure did sniffle a bit on my way home!!

The morning (Friday 12/11) started out with Warren diarrhea.. wonderful, I know. Since he was sick we couldn’t spend the morning at the museum like we had planned and I started to worry how I was going to get in there, buy a discounted pass with two other ladies, and then get my children to leave without a fight. I did that part surprisingly well! I told Warren he had a hurt butt so we couldn’t play at the museum until it was better. That was good enough for him. He didn’t run away at all while we were in the lobby too! Which was a good thing for his sake since he had lost my phone earlier and I was without one…

Then I took the little critters to the library and drove through (hooray for that!) and took their little butts in CVS to get Daddy’s insulin. I was so hungry my belly said, GET MCDONALD’s, so I did.

I got them home and tried to make Hagen take a nap, Warren just lounged on floor watching spongebob and later passed out on the way to the doctor’s office.

I got both kids calmly into the waiting room and was complimented a few times on their behavior… what a change! Usually they are so bad I just get stares ;).

I get a call, “I’m here where do I go?” Travis was at the HOSPITAL a few miles away and my appointment was…. 1 minute ago. I gave him directions and he got there JUST in time. He said, “Don’t we always go to the hospital to have these done?” – We went to the hospital for Warren’s ultrasound but we came to my doctor’s office for Hagen (same location, they haven’t moved or anything). But THANKFULLY he made it.

We went into the little room, Daddy was holding Warren and Hagen was sitting politely on a chair (he did WONDERFULLY the WHOLE TIME!), and I laid down on the table. She asked, “Are we finding out today?” I shook my head, “Of course!” She started the scan and found a leg, some feet, then she saw her laying folded up on her legs. I’ve been saying it feels like she’s doing somersaults and I think she was! Then asks, “oh! whats that?!” And then looks at me. I hoped I wasn’t seeing what I wanted so it came out as a question, “Its a girl?!” Then she stops the video and writes, “ITS A GIRL!”

I looked at Travis and just smiled… I was really surprised I had no tears!

When we heard the heart beat Warren’s eyes lit up and he said, “That’s the baby…” Really seriously… Sooo cute. :)

I finished up the appointment and on my way home I stopped at Wal-mart to grab this book:

And for good measure I bought this too:

Two songs I heard today that made me think: I heard, “Don’t call me daughter” – Pearl Jam on the way to the ultrasound and I heard our song on the way home (No one like you – Scorpions).. thought that was kinda funny/cool/odd.
