Can you tell he’s almost three?
Written by amanda on December 5, 2009 – 10:45 am -I swear to god this kid will make me loopy before he goes to school. He’s a non-napper and he’s decided to push my buttons and his boundaries all day long. NON-STOP. I told Travis today it would be the equivalent of his boss standing beside his desk pointing a finger at his temper saying, “I’m not touching you, I’m not touching you, I’m not touching you….” All f***ing day long. I swear my mental capabilities do NOT reach to this level of torture.
I’ve tried to make sure there was NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING around him that he could push me with but of course he finds things that are unable to be put out of reach. TV gets turned off, toys get thrown, things get jumped off of.. it doesn’t stop until he goes to bed. I haven’t had a break in a few weeks. Its only just been this bad for a month or so.
He is always copying his little brother, but only if we told his little brother to NOT do something, its almost never when we praise the kid, he’s always in search of the negative. I’ve tried making sure I make time for him throughout the day, stopping what I’m doing to tend to his social needs when he acts out but he just WANTS to act out for the sake of ACTING OUT.
Its constant whining, crying, begging, yelling, demanding, and he WILL NOT do as he’s told. I had to physically hold him put to make him apologize to me because he flat out refused. His will is strong and I have no idea how I’m supposed to deal with it if I can’t break it. He won’t sit still, he fidgets all day long and I wish I could figure out how to get his energy out. I’ve tried taking him to the museum, the aquarium and it just seems to make it worse, he’s a flipping energizer bunny!!
And the one that gets me the most out of everything is the giggling when I say no. I tell them, “Don’t go upstairs.” and he bolts for the stairs and runs up them giggling.
I SWEAR TO GOD HE WOULDN’T BE GIGGLING IF DUCT TAPED HIM TO THE WALL WHILE HE YELLED “NO!” AND I STARTED GIGGLING LIKE IT WAS THE FUNNIEST THING IN THE WORLD!!
Okay. Breeeeeaaatheeee….. I’m done now.
