1001 Healthy Baby Answers
by amanda
After three children I’d say I’m a “pro” at this mothering stuff, but I definitely wasn’t as confident the first time around. I’d end up on Wikipedia looking up all kinds of infant problems in case something was wrong and I didn’t know it. And Wikipedia is not the most reliable of sources at all! It would have been nice to have a trustworthy source of info when I couldn’t get a hold of the pediatrician. 1001 Healthy Baby Answers is just that.
I sat on the couch this weekend and browsed through the book imagining I didn’t already know about most of the things inside, it would definitely be a great resource! It’s not the kind of book you use to diagnose your child (since your pediatrician should be doing that for you) but it’s a wonderful guide when you don’t remember everything your pediatrician told you about a diagnosis. Just look it up in the index and you have the symptoms and treatments right there for you.
I’m more of an internet person when it comes to research, but if you aren’t this book is perfect I think. It’s written by a pediatrician (Gary C. Morchower MD) with contributions from pediatric specialists. It would make a wonderful gift to first time parents for sure!
The publishers (Sourcebooks Inc.) are letting me give away two copies of the book on my blog! If you’d like to enter to win a copy here’s how:

Hi. I’m stopping by from Jenna’s.
